That's what got me thinking about the second blade mounted design.
A land-clearing or tree-cutting blade adapted for attachment horizontally to the front of a dozer head and a leading cutting edge for the blade curving forwardly of the width of the blade, the Cited by: Apr 04, According to an alternative embodiment, a v-shaped cutting blade is provided for cutting trees.
What diameter are most of the trees you would be pushing?
The v-shaped cutting blade according to this embodiment compromises a pair of substantially flat sheer blades which converge at the forward positions thereof to form a v-shaped cutting edge; and a pair of concave blades which likewise converge at the forward portions thereof and extend upwardly from the cutting edge of said pair of converging sheer blades; Cited by: 5.
Jul 12, Don't know what you have for a dozer, but for just one project I wouldn't bother with building a tree spear. I've cleared many cedars with just a straight tilt blade (D6c). Tilt the blade and drop the corner in just ahead of the base. Tip the tree a little then back up.
Then the spear would rest on the top of the blade but would be able to move upward independently of it.
The straight blade is constructed from heavy-duty steel, and is fitted with OEM dozer cutting edges and a wear liner that protects the S-blade face when pushing large, sharp and abrasive objects. Straight Dozer Blades for all dozers from 17 to tons; Used for Estimated Reading Time: 3 mins.
